About deckdrill

deckdrill

deckdrill is a web studio (with a Mac and Windows desktop app) for creating Anki decks and audio drills. Users bring their own API keys for AI card writing (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini) and text-to-speech (ElevenLabs or Azure Speech), so they pay providers directly. Keys are stated to stay in the browser and pass through a stateless relay to a single provider. The tool can write cards from a topic and grammar focus, or import existing .apkg Anki decks. It renders MP3 drills with pauses timed to each sentence, offers Pimsleur-style (with backward build-up and spaced recall) and Glossika-style (two passes, no breakdown) modes, exports .apkg decks with audio, or sends decks directly to Anki on a computer. Users can optionally clone their own voice through ElevenLabs. Demo decks are available to browse. Supported languages for card generation and drills include Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, Italian, German, and Polish, with English as the cue language.
