Metrical

Metrical lets users log meals by snapping a photo of their plate or typing a description such as '2 eggs with toast'. AI estimates calories and macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat) without searching a food database. The free version requires no sign-up, has no ads, and stores data locally on the device by default, with import and export options. Insights show daily calories, days on target, streaks, weekly trends, and calories per meal. An optional one-time $29.99 Cloud plan adds sync across devices, automatic cloud backup, saved meal photos, and an enhanced AI model. The page says it works on any device with a browser as a progressive web app, and is available in English and Spanish.
