Samwell

Samwell is an AI-powered academic writing platform presented on its website as a free essay writer for all types of academic essays. It offers writing modes for essays, research papers, literature reviews, and scientific papers, and supports long-form writing of up to 50 pages. The page says Samwell accesses over 20 academic libraries and databases to find citations, lets users upload their own PDFs, articles, or lecture notes as sources, and provides an editor for adding images, charts, tables, and quotations. It also describes autocomplete suggestions, collaboration with invited users in real time with comments and chat, an AI Tutor for studying and quizzing, an Upload Essay feature to improve existing drafts, and tools to rephrase, expand paragraphs, check plagiarism, and humanize text to reduce AI detection, with a built-in AI check before download. The site states that no tool can guarantee 100% undetectability. New users receive 1,000 free words, and an Academic Plan is offered for extended writing and higher word limits, though specific prices are not listed on the supplied page.
