About Smalt
Smalt
Smalt lets developers work with AI coding agents by voice. Run /smalt in Claude Code and speak; Claude works in the terminal while Smalt shows each step on its pill and speaks the answer. Smalt also dictates into any app (hold the Option key), takes meeting notes with live transcripts, summaries, decisions and action items saved as Markdown, translates what people say on calls, and answers questions from the user's own files. The page says speech is transcribed on the Mac, audio is never saved or uploaded, and no account is needed. Smalt is installed on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14.4 or later, and Codex support is listed as coming soon.
